Pepo's Circus

This was a short, wordless book designed last semester. It was a day project with only an hour or so spent on the drawings, the rest of the time spent getting to grips with indesign for page orders before printing.

We were given an image as a starting point and had to generate an idea from that. I had a group of small children, a couple of which were wearing masks. I chose to design a book based upon the circus and a young child's nightmare, the acrobats in the dream are revealed with the masks of the bullies in the playground. The idea of the book being wordless is so the reader can interpret their own story for a personal read every time.

The book was titled Pepo's Circus.

All drawings were done with black ink, water, nib, wax resist and a brush.
